8 Things.

I recently participated in a fun little tag game over at Deviant Art where I had to essentially post a journal about 8 things about myself. It was pretty fun and I thought I'd share those 8 things you may, or may not already know about me. So, here they are.

8 Things about me:

1. I was born in Puerto Rico, but raised in Brooklyn New York from age 2 and on
2. I get nasty migraines that usually knock me down for an entire day.
3. The first time I ever got paid for comic art was $25.00 for a coloring job
4. When I was younger, I had a period where all I painted and drew were odd weird things like H.R. Giger.
5. I once walked into the Harris Comics offices with my portfolio and the female Editor, at the time, gave me a 5 page Vamparila tryout script. When I got home and looked at the script, and right after the excitement had faded, I got the rude awakening that I was nowhere near ready for a career in comics.
6. I've always wanted to be a cartoonist, but was subjecting myself to drawing in styles others wanted me to draw in, just to get work. Until recently, where I decided it will be done my way, or the high way!
7. I'm Christian. I mean, "born again" kind of Christian. But you won't see me shove that fact, and my beliefs, down anyones throat.
8. WYSIWYG

The last one basically explains all of me. What You See Is What You Get. I am who I am all around. Never trying to act like someone I'm not.

In other news. I'm 3 pages of pencil art away from finishing a comic I've been hired to work on for the Junior section of Crown Of Life Comics. If you haven't checked out their website, know would be a good excuse to do so. This is essentially a small publisher trying to put out some fun, entertaining, and educational Christian based comic books. Not an easy task. But you have to admire their faith and trust in God in doing this.

The comic I have been hired to work on is called Noah and the publisher recently released the cover as a preview which you can check out here.

As soon as I get the okay I'll happily post a few pages from the comic.

Till then, enjoy and Happy 4th of July!

You are correct I knew almost none of that. Except the born again part. I haven't known you long but that part is pretty obvious, which is very respectable.
Very informative post

Thanks. Good to know the born again stuff is obvious w/o my enforcing it ;)
